A note about a guided Oklahoma Goose Hunt with Sooner Outfitters:

More than 100 geese - big, noisy, wild geese – make the last turn and are drifting, seemingly in slow motion, towards the decoys. The lead birds spread out their big feet, as they will soon make contact with the ground. The hunters, all in a line and each trying to remember to breathe, are waiting not so patiently for the shot to be called.  The lead hunter shouts "Kill 'em!" and chaos ensues.  In the first volley one goose falls in front of each hunter, the second and third volleys are not quite as productive, but many of the hunters bag another goose.

Grown men who typically talk slowly, with a bit of drawl, are suddenly speaking and shrieking like 13-year old girls on caffeine high. "Did you see all those geese!", "I got two!", "Who shot the one in front of me?" "Get down, there's more coming!"  There is no other experience in the sporting world quite like goose hunting. In no other hunting scenarios do we get to match wits with so many creatures at one time or get them so close.  It's a wonderful experience, but there is a reason there are not more goose hunters out there - it's hard work. Good decoys come with big price tags. Geese like to land in the middle of wide-open fields, which can mean long walks. And chasing geese requires many hours of driving and scouting out the best locations.  At Sooner Outfitters, we do all the work for you.  We've got the decoys, the blinds, the ATV, the time to scout and most importantly the knowledge to consistently deliver heavy straps of Canada geese, as well some snow and white-fronted geese.  We only hunt on "hot" fields, where geese have fed the night before. We are always scouting and we never know exactly which of our fields will offer us, and you, the highest chance of success. The more flexible you can be on dates, the more likely we can take you on memorable goose hunt. We won't waste your time on a sub-par hunt, which may mean we might have to reschedule leading up to the hunt. Then again we may be able to offer a goose hunting opportunity at the last minute. We do whatever it takes to make sure you have the best chance of having an awesome guided Oklahoma Goose Hunt!
